ayahuasca and phlegm?

And I'm not talking about the magical phlegm, or maybe it is, but not in a nice way...

It happens to me a lot when I drink, I keep spitting up strange mucus, and sometimes it feels like it is dripping out my nose, almost like a bloody nose, but i wipe and nothing is physically there. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I am thinking it is maybe the medicine trying to get rid of some kind of lymphatic or glandular infection, I feel it in my lungs and chest as well...during the ceremonies I always feel that it is cleansing, but I have to admit sometimes the next day I sort of wonder if I'm just allergic to something in the brew?

I think I have been fighting a nasty case of candida albicans for quite some time now and maybe this has something to do with it.

So any thoughts, anyone else ever have issues like this? I'm curious to hear about anything gross or unusual people expell during ceremony and what kinds of things they feel are being healed by it.

Gracias

I get heavy phlegm during sacred mushroom experiences..
I think it is also part of the purge.. Getting all the stuff out..
Phlegm is a transporter. As is sweat and vomit and shit...
I compare it with an emotional purge.. How the body reacts on the emotion..
I've been thinking about this lately..

Every time I drink, I have that type of an experience. I also have noticed that I tend to feel much better the next day after it.

I agree with Geert, I think it is a part of the purge process. I have spoken to many people about that, and majority said that they tend to experience that too after drinking Aya.

If you're worried you're allergic to something in the Aya, just keep a close eye on yourself. The most common allergic reactions to anything are swelling, hives, or trouble breathing. So if you experience any of these things right after drinking, then that may suggest you may be allergic to it.

      Namaste,

      Maya
