Hi,
My partner just returned from an intensely transforming trip to Peru and is now looking for a local therapist who has experience with either doing Ayahuasca or something similar so that they can help her integrate her experience. She is experiencing bouts of intense depression since returning. I am hoping that one of you can give a referral. Thanks.

Post-transformation integration sounds like a really good career for someone to get into these days. -

Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:41 AMnot that would be a dreamcome true...
aya helped me discover the downfalls of western psychology, i'd love to talk with a therapist who deeply understands this and how ayahuasca can fill in the cracks that psychology misses. -

Wed, April 9, 2008 - 1:55 PMMichael I recommend you look up the CIIS in Berkely, they have a really good transpersonal psychology program there which Stan Grof started, and I guarantee you there's people there who could help her integrate the experience. Or else you can just look for people in San Fran who practice transpersonal psychology. Their modus operanid ASC's (Altered States of Consciousness) which they induce these days via holotropic breathwork. Give me a couple days and I may even be able to get you a name of someone good in the area there. In the meantime, follow those leads.....

...perhaps incestuous cousins. Those schools are more closely related than most, and its a small family.

Re: Help: Looking for therapist who understands Aya in San Francisco
Fri, April 18, 2008 - 8:17 PMCheck out transpersonal psychologists who are experienced in psychedelic and other spiritual emergences. I had a great one 15 years ago, Dr. Deane Brown who was one of the founders of their professional organization and guide me through integrating my "two worlds.".
