i can't even come up with words for how big of a role she plays!!! archetypal matriarchal and patriarchal energies are up so strongly right now. and the mother gaia is healing us as much as we are healing her...it's so beautifully interconnected. i am both excited and overwhelmed by the work ahead in iquitos!

Though in touch with the feminine, I always new Shel was a man.
He's got that peacemaker thing that warriors who've seen the uselessness of war have.
It's quiet, but quick to make amends, not from apology so much as from the knowledge of the pointlessness of aggression.
He's a bit of a hero for me because of that.

Isn't it fun analyzing Shel? I think so. The Shel way, or the way of Shel...
Is he man or beast or woman, or maybe just some intelligent ten year old who can really stay in character when inhabiting one of his various on-line persona's.

Until there's a live sighting we may never know! HAVE YOU SEEN SHEL..???.. If so, then let's hear some proof that he's the good looking gentle giant he appears to be........... :)

:) oh sweet rebecca! :) even your cyber presence makes me smile :)

i think :: crunch (eggshells) crunch ::

The planet Earth Mother was impregnated with Great Spirit Life
this created the beings we call our brothers and sisters, winged, two legged, four legged, scaled etc
with the rise of human population
came the rise of ego centered activity, and fear.
primarily this war action has been carried out by men
however it has been supported by women - even if mostly in apathy.

Balance must be struck.
Love is not a Female quality.
However as bearers of life, as holy grails in the Physical as well as Spiritual sense
(men being only capable of the spiritual aspect here)
It is more natural for us to attend to needs in a tender fashion!
We must ALL ,men and women ,Cherish the feminine aspects of ourselves, and PACHAMAMA!!!!!
We are on the very brink !
We must Love our mother, as the giver of life, body, food, home, medicine (Aya), etc etc etc ...
And equally Padre, y todos los hermanos y hermanas!!!!!

TODOS!!!!

Thanks, Juliana. I hope you can experience it well when the time is right for you.

Shel has a point, too, about "exists in all of us". Also, on occasion and in certain cultures, Ayahuasca appears as a male spirit, although She was entirely female to me.

I really think Ayahuasca is about connecting with any and all human beings equally, regardless of gender.
It may be that human females may react to the feminine 'presentation' or aspect of Ayahuasca more strongly or more viscerally, themselves, than men would generally - a sister, mother, daughter connection. But, men have those connections, as well, of course.

Blessings and Light!

rebecca its so true but isnt this a bit exclusive? "to me, i think she plays a strong role with women especially" i mean she has changed around my whole life as a man, hell i am a feminest, the cycle of birth and death exists in all of us constantly, i am probabley just jealous of the womans babymaking ability.....again...lol

to me, i think she plays a strong role with women especially, or atleast the ones who are open to her lessons. because according to many traditions, life and birth all begin within the woman, ayahuasca, being the "vine of death" works within the realms that transform death back into rebirth again. as we rise to be vessels of the feminine undertandings of healing, compassion, beauty and nourishment, i feel like ayahuasca works through us all to reawaken and replenish these very neccessary qualities within ourselves.

rebecca,
I've always loved to travel and see Earth landscapes, especially loving the land. I've also always loved trees - especially pine forests - and they have always seemed alive to me.
When I went to the Amazon, though, it was the first time I had a sense of being surrounded by this truly immense mass of living matter, stretching literally hundreds, even thousands of miles in every direction. DNA encoded, living life forms, green and in constant motion, growing and dying.

When I took Ayahuasca, I was introduced to the Female Spirit of that plant, and perhaps of all plants. She was certainly a powerful being. She was certainly in control in her own realm. She was also, amazingly!, interested, even passionate about my personal wellbeing, my growth, my understanding as a single human being. As I am not qualified in any way to be singled out by such a being for such attentions, I make the deduction that She is Interested in ALL of us and would guide, teach, re-assure, correct, and even love us all. I'm not trying to sound religious here, just making an observation of what I experienced (the essence of shamanic endeavor).

Does that imply that She is making efforts beyond the various personal experiences of her within the context of Ayahuasca ceremonies? I can't say, but I do know that the ceremony and actual ingestion of the entheogen is only the first stage of the Ayahuasca experience as it continues to echo and influence us in our lives afterwards.

If that is true for one person, then perhaps it is true that the Spirit of Ayahuasca can reach out into the natural world in its entire scale and effect some influence for change. I can only hope that She can and does.

i've been curious about this.

many traditions carry the belief that this time in history is the time in which the feminine/woman/goddess energy is in the proccess of being restored on the planet..

since ayahuasca is the mother plant and is considered a woman by many, how do you think she might be playing a role in this planetary change?
