Aya specific instructions

Hi all,

I took ayahuasca for the first time about a month ago.
My first time was an explotion of information about my life; how I was treating myself and others and an array of instructions on what to do and how to live my life.
I should move out of the place I'm in asap and got instructions on exactly where to move (what area) and with whom to live with.
I have been looking for a place matching the specific instructions that I saw in my vision but as of yet no luck. In fact so far no ad has matched the description of aya. I'm getting quite frustrated.....

My question to you guys is: how do you deal with so specific instructions? Has anybody received similar specific instructions? How does it work? Somebody told me aya does not take society or money into account.

Don't take them literally. Follow your heart, not your visions.
More important than what you see is how you feel about it.

If your experience makes no sense to you, some channels need opening... maybe you need more time... or another cup.

Take all instructions with a large grain of skepticism. The mind is a tricky devil. I've seen and heard of many people going off on wild goose chases following visions. It's really difficult, even for experienced shamans, to know what is real and what isn't from the vision world. I asked a very experienced shaman once about this, what is real and what isn't, and his answer was that most of the visions are not real.

My advice would be, as above, to follow your heart. Tune into your own wisdom. Listen to the themes of the visions rather than the specificis of the visions themselves.

Personally, I tend to follow those visions that relate to health - e.g. stop smoking, exercise more, take this herb, etc., and ignore the visions that relate to things in my life that I want, e.g. marry that person, do "this" and you'll be king of the world, etc. It's too easy to mix up what the mind wants with the medicine.

This is my own feeling: If it comes in English (or whatever your language is), I'm highly suspect.

If this happened to me I would ask myself a bunch of questions.

    - Am I really happy living where I am living?
    - If not why?
    - Do I stay because of fear? Or cheap rent?
    - If I totally trusted the universe to take care of me would I be living in a different place?

Perhaps there is something where you are living that you don't see that affects you in a less than positive way.

Perhaps the move from one house to another is symbolic. Can you imagine moving inside yourself to a place more like the place in your visions? Incorporating the aspects of your new housemates into yourself?

Perhaps the path illuminated is all about the journey, not the end result.

i.e. How can you walk your path and not get frustrated?

    Just some ideas,

Thanks guys for some great insights and ideas. But has anybody actually ever followed aya specific instructions or do you all ignore them?
What happens when you follow them or ignore them?

To Richard: the visions were not in any language just pictures that answered my questions. Some visions just popped up without any questions asked and aya
explained herself in that very special way we can't describe with words.

Has anybody had any visions predicting the future come true?

        > has anybody actually ever followed aya specific instructions or do you all ignore them?

I've never received specific instructions to begin with. I don't think many people do. It may have to do with your expectations or interpretation.

        > What happens when you follow them or ignore them?

It depends on what they are. If you follow instructions to build an igloo, then what happens is an igloo getting built ;)

Take them as a suggestion of what could or might be if you change this or that, not what should or is supposed to be. Then use your own judgment.

Oh, yes, I pay close attention to the instructions, but it is not all the time about instructions, but lessons, warnings [like Richard said about health], etc.

For an example, in my third experience I saw that I was being rude with many people that I knew and that I needed to put a stop to it, and it was very confusing to me. I couldn’t see further than “be kind”, because my life was a swirl of emotions, anger. Years later I could fully understand the instruction, to be kind but to don’t be stupid. Just to create a new dynamic in my relations. This teaching was fully present all the way; I just didn’t have enough perspective to see it all.

I guess that with time we flush all our inequities that blur our understanding and we start seeing the real thing, but it comes with the continuity of the ceremonies, the improvements in life and some real intent to get real. That’s how I face the instructions that I receive. But I guess it varies from person to person. Some people could get this lesson of mine right the way, although in other aspects they could linger like I did.

And elder of the Santo Daime said once, “There is a spiritual stage [in the Daime] that, from here [he gesticulates] on to that point, truth goes mixed with lies; they go on interlacing themselves. When it develops beyond that wall, then there is only truth.”

          Blessings,

Well, I used to (ah hem, mumble mumble) smoke a lot of clove cigarettes when I was in Peru. Long story, but it happened. I was in ceremony one night and suddenly found myself in a hospital bed, tubes down my nose, respirator in my mouth, IV's in my veins, heart monitor feebly beeping away. Then I got the message that that would be my fate unless I stopped smoking those things. Seemed pretty reasonable and clear, so I stopped smoking them.

And then on the other hand . . . got a "message" one time that I was supposed to be with a specific woman I knew. I pursued that and it was a short-lived but rather painful disaster.

And then again . . . got a strong dream about singing. Now, I'd stopped singing when I was in the 3rd grade and never sang since - going so far as to mouth words when singing in public. Then after this dream, another long and amazing story, I was essentially, well, if not forced very strongly encouraged to start singing in ceremony. I did, and it's been an astounding and continually growing often ecstatic joy in my life. Other people seem to like it too.

Depends also on who's offering the instructions. If your just hearing a voice in your head and can't connect it to a being, or if it's just a feeling you got, a general sense of something, or an impulse, that's one thing. If you get specific instructions from a being your in relationship with and recognize from previous experience that's another. All the information is useful, some is more forcefully imparted, and some is direct communication from a being connected to you personally as an ally or helper or teacher or guide.

In some mediumship traditions that use sacred medicines, you don't share space with a being who doesn't introduce itself by name and agree to work within the context of your faith or intentions.

With ayahuasca it's also possible to request a clear introduction from the being interested in interacting with you. Who are you, what is your intention and so forth. Relationships, built up over time and experience and the instructions that come from them can be followed specifically.

It's like getting to know someone in a arena where you really need to be focused and aware. You probably thought long and hard about who you were going into ceremony with, asked questions and gauged their intent. You probably decided, even if meeting them for the first time, you trusted their vibe from all the environmental and physical clues. Until you have a relationship based in past experience with a particular being, ask questions and request introductions and firm statements of intent, before you go off on a goose chase just because you heard it in ceremony.

Just my thoughts about it, sorry if it sounds a little like instructions, but when you land on a new and distant shore, be sure your dealing with friends before you follow them into the woods. :)

I didn't see any beings other then in the beginning (animals, holy men, la medicina etc) during my first ceremony and neither did I develop any relationship with the beings I saw during the 9 other ceremonies I attended.
It was more like me saying my intention and getting answers, insights in pictures. Sometimes with a voice, sometimes without. But never in contact with a being. Oh, actually just once! But it was to ask for information about whose funeral I was attending. And it turned out to be my own.
A voice told me I had to die. When I was 'dying' I asked the voice why I wasn't afraid and it answered because I were already dead. Quite symbolical! I died and it was necessary.

Funny enough, the night before a guy had 'died' during ceremony and he had screamed and been so afraid several shamans had to come to his aid.
When he told us about his experience the next day I knew I was next....

BTW Does anybody know who does ceremonies in San Francisco?

Me too. Even if the outcome seemed less stellar than what I expected I am encouraged to appreciate the journey rather than the end point in my path and remember that I learn more from the rocky parts than the easily navigated stretches. Its all going exactly as it should be.
