Just booking more flights today and if you can manage to get your international booked, roundtrip to Lima... I can book the LIma to Iquitos for you at $141 USDs total... That's an incredible price but it won't hold too long.
Just write to me at alanshoemaker@hotmail.com
I need your passport number, name as it appears there and country of origin. Then I need the date and time you fly into and out of Lima to return home. And if you want to wait 3 or 4 hours in the airport to catch the early morning flght to Iquitos or if you wish to take a hotel in LIma and get some sleep, then fly the next afternoon to Iquitos. I tell you this as Peru makes it so that most all flights arrive late at night, making it nearly impossible to make a connection to anywhere in Peru until the next day.

Wed, April 8, 2009 - 12:20 PMJust checked and that's correct: go to www.lan.com These prices won't hold so if you're coming to the Shamanism conference try and buy them as soon as you can.

Re: Amazonian Shamanism Conference FLIGHTS
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 2:22 AMSorry to dredge up an old thread. My question is about Lima-Iquitos flights in general, at any time of year, not just for the conference.
I found this on Percy's site:
"When you are travelling towards Iquitos we recommend you to get your ticket once in Peru or through a travel agent in here. The cost of buying it in the internet from your country is really expensive. For every domestic flight we recommend you to buy your ticket in here in Peru."
Can someone please confirm this? The online price is $123, is it really cheaper when you order your flight in Peru in person?
I'm planning to go to Iquitos this year for the first time, and while the online price is not outrageous, saving a few bucks where possible wouldn't hurt. -

Wed, May 6, 2009 - 10:58 AMI've found the inter-Peru flights are always cheaper when bought in Peru, $20-$100 cheaper.

Re: Amazonian Shamanism Conference FLIGHTS
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 11:40 AMAs of last March 6th, all flights flying into Iquitos and leaving Iquitos will no longer be charged the Peruvian 19% Sales tax...
That certainly helped! -

Thu, May 7, 2009 - 2:55 AMDavid - thanks. That's counterintuitive and unlike anything I've seen.
Alan - yes, but that applies to both online and in Peru. -

Re: Amazonian Shamanism Conference FLIGHTS
Mon, May 11, 2009 - 5:07 AMIf you can get it for around 120 dollars online, then buy! Shopping around in Lima is not the way you want to spend you time, really, and much cheaper than that it will never be in any case, if at all. -

Mon, May 11, 2009 - 5:43 AMThanks for the tip :)
I wouldn't even know where to buy them other than online, I was assuming there would be a desk or something at the airport...
