Re: Where'd you do it?
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 7:07 AMI ordered the materials and made it. I lived in an empty apartment in denver, and I didn't know a person in the city. I did it by myself which is nuts to be by yourself facing death. but yeah, its not hard at all to brew.
the ceremonial aspects are foreign to me. which is the drawback of doing it alone in your unfurnished apartment. but I did get alot out of it. -

Re: Where'd you do it?
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 9:30 AMabout the brewing - is this right: cook down to a cup or so and pour that off in separate container and then repeat this process until liquid coming off into separate container losses it's color then brew what I have pulled off into the separate container down to cup or two and drink that - yes? -

Re: Where'd you do it?
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 6:48 PMD' cook of what you have, gently in acidic water for as many hours as it takes for you to be able to smell, mothballs/burning plastic from the brew'
Strain'
Re-cook the plants, for another couple of hours'
Strain'
Add both volumes of brew together'
And reduce all the liquid to one cup'
Half a cup should do the trick nicely'
If you make tea and don't drink it' add a teaspoonful of white wine vinagar and pour the tea in a bottle and put it in the fridge'
IT WILL KEEP FOR MONTHS!!!
The tea matures as of when it clarifies' becomes way better than as of when it is first brewed'
Always re-heat your tea before partaking'
If you don't like the taste of the vinagar, you can nutralise it with an effervecent vit C' tablet'
Awesome journeys bro'
Bliss'

Re: Where'd you do it?
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 3:26 AMFreeze and thaw your caapi, then grind it into powder and simmer or gently boil 4 or 5 times for 4 hours in a vinegar solution. 30 parts water to 1 part caapi, 1 tablespoon of vinegar per liter.
Combine the washes, reduce it to one pot, do the egg white thing and reduce it as much as you like.
I usually end up with one dose being 50 ml of the muddy liquid. Depending on your sensitivity and vine's potency, 1 dose can be anything from 10 g to 40 g worth of the dry material. -

Wed, April 9, 2008 - 1:48 PMFreeze and thaw your caapi, then grind it into powder and simmer or gently boil 4 or 5 times for 4 hours in a vinegar solution.
What the hell for'
Grind it and cook it gently for 1 hour in acidic water'
Strain'
Then add the light plants and cook gently until it stinks of spice'
Strain'
Then wash the leaf again and cook for a couple of hours'
It is only the light plants that need to be cooked until the spice comes out into the acidic water'
No need to cook the vine for more than one hour'
Of why to stick egg white in Aya' just drink it man'
Of fear of puking' then partake of another plant teacher'
Ez nwo'
I am seriously stunned at all of the fear' unreal for sure and then some freakin more'
Excuse' all with heart felt love'
Only thing egg whites are good for is to clarify Jurema of the tannins'
Don't stick egg whites in Aya'huasca'
Aya' will kick your ass all over the known universe and then some more' to freak of animal in the bitter tea' freakin sacrelidge'
No wonder Aya kicks your ass bro'

Re: Where'd you do it?
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 3:14 PMI'm sure others will have diff opinions, and not everyone has an opportunity to travel south, but I feel that there is something fundamentally important to working with Aya in the natural jungle environment where She lives. There is a direct energy and connection with the brew when you are there, helping to gather the vines and leaves from the forest and helping to make the tea yourself (and drinking what you made).
It is almost an indescribable feeling to be in the most bio-diverse and bio-active place on the planet and surrounded by a thousand miles or more of it on all sides. You can sense the life energy directly.
I actually began experiencing some visuals in the half hour before my first session - the great green selva was responding to my deep intentions and preparations.
I will return at my first opportunity. No question. -

Re: Where'd you do it?
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 4:13 PMThe Jungle...
When one finds oneself surrounded by the plants, the interactions of the insects as they forage and look for mates. The rivers, mighty rivers with dolphins and fish. The morning mist floating through the canopy awakening the day. The coming of the night and the awakening of the night time jungle soundtrack. The troupes of monkeys swinging through the trees. The snakes and lizards that cross your path......Ah, the magic of the jungle.
Lucky old me! Ill be there tommorow. -
